Murky in more ways than one, this is a great fun concept badly executed. Fred Savage, the boy from The Wonder Years, makes friends with the monster under the bed, and joins him in his pranks in the world under the floorboards. This sounds hilarious, but script and direction are strictly from amateur night and talented cinematographer Dick Bush never solves the problems raised by the fact that the bad-complexioned monster (Howie Mandel) and his friends can't stand daylight. The film itself would perhaps have been better not to have seen the light of day: don't expect much.
