Not so much a dumb animal adventure as a dim one, in a film about a racehorse. Everyone, except the bad guys, tries far too hard to be cute and lovable in this offering, directed by David Nelson (brother of pop star Rick) and based on the real-life kidnapping of the horse Carnauba. Unconvincingly scripted, the film features the attractive Tracy Vaccaro as the horse's owner; her only claim to fame in subsequent times, however, has been to pose as a 'Playboy' centrefold. The story's beautifully shot on location in North Carolina, but that's not enough here.
