Ulrich Edel

Uli Edel has been directing movies in his native country and for Hollywood since he helmed Das Ding on German TV at the age of 31.
His feature film debut was Christiane F, a movie that portrayed the drug scene in Berlin in the 70s.
He followed this up with the controversial Last Exit To Brooklyn, starring Jennifer Jason Leigh. The film was set in New York City during the 1950s against a backdrop of union corruption.
Ulrich's next film was the sexually provocative Body Of Evidence, which starred Sharon Stone and caused a furore amongst those who believed Stone was just trying to enter the spotlight by revealing a lot of flesh!
Ulrich has also seen success through his TV directing career.
Many episodes of Tales From The Crypt were directed by him, as was much of Twin Peaks, Homicide and Life On The Streets.
Rasputin was his most commercially successful TV project.
It starred Alan Rickman, Ian McKellan and Greta Scacchi and won many Emmys and Golden Globe awards.
