A beautiful script and top-notch performances give a lift to this TV movie about racial tension surrounding the burial of a black Vietnam veteran in an all-white Georgia cemetery. John Lithgow delivers one of the finest performances of his career as an army officer in charge of the case, and there's strong support from Morgan Freeman, Frances Sternhagen, Richard Bradford and M Emmet Walsh. It's just a shame that the solution to the mystery and the means used to end the graveyard segregation aren't strong enough to justify the film's length.
