Genial Henry Kendall played many light leading roles in minor British films of the Thirties. This one is an unconvincing thriller in which Kendall's amateur sleuth tries to clear a very young John Mills on a murder charge, with a teenaged Ida Lupino as the heroine. In later years, Mills told the story of creeping into a cinema to see this, one of his first leading film roles, only to find the audience booing the film. After a few minutes looking at the film, he said, there was only thing to do. He joined in.
