Lesley Ann Warren is a vibrant singer and dancer who also has talents as an actress that have rarely been tapped to proper effect in films. Despite her Oscar nomination for Victor/Victoria, the material she has since chosen has continued to be poor in quality. Here she's caught up with two other good players who have not quite made top stardom, Tom Skerritt and Marg Helgenberger, in a maudlin soaper about a woman with multiple sclerosis whose husband has an affair with her live-in nurse. This is a tricky subject that needs intelligent writing, but the treatment trivialises the story at every turn. Don't expect a happy ending: there isn't one.
