A pursuit thriller that starts sensationally well, but tends to dissipate its tension in the relationship that springs up between the fugitive, a rich Texas wife who has witnessed her husband killing his mistress, and the farmer who rescues her but has his own problems with the law. Experienced director Vincent McEveety could have done with pacing virtually the whole of his film at the speed of the first reel. Robert Urich is the farmer, Markie Post the woman on the run. Michael Beck and James Gammon draw one-dimensional poirtraits of evil as the bad guys.
