Dynasty's Linda 'Shoulderpads' Evans plays a down-to-earth TV presenter who becomes the unwilling target of Cupid's little arrows when she is forced to stand in for a colleague on air as judge of Seattle's `Most Romantic Man' contest. What comedy there is stems from the fact that the cynical, unromantic Jane (a somewhat miscast Evans), who's engaged to marry solid, reliable Tom Skerritt, suddenly finds herself enjoying all the romantic attention thrust upon her by the eager and handsome contestants. It hardly needs adding that the staid Skerritt must excavate the romance that lurks deep in his own soul if he is to win Jane back. The result's a predictable romantic comedy to be watched only while wearing rose-tinted spectacles.
