Another crime case for New York detective Madigan, played with gruff efficiency by Richard Widmark. Directed in workmanlike fashion by Alex March (who was also at the helm of the earlier 'Madigan: Manhattan Beat') its guest star as Madigan's troubled ex-partner is John Larch, who has made a career out of playing cops: he was the sergeant on Clint Eastwood's case in the thriller 'Play Misty for Me', Eastwood's chief in 'Dirty Harry', and the town sheriff in 'The Great Bank Robbery'.
