This sub-standard clerical murder mystery runs like an episode of TV's 'Father Dowling Investigates' crossed with Hitchcock's 'I Confess'. Donald Sutherland is the Roman Catholic priest who sets out to catch a serial killer while the Detroit police appear to be twiddling their thumbs. Pity poor Belinda Bauer, introduced as a reporter with romantic designs on Sutherland's sleuthing priest, only to disappear at the mid-point with no explanation. On second thoughts, she was the lucky one!
