Clint Eastwood plays a skip tracer - someone who tracks down felons who jump bail - in this not terribly successful comedy-thriller. He runs into Bernadette Peters, who is on the run from her husband in his prized '59 Cadillac ragtop. Hubby is in hot pursuit, so Bernadette obviously turns to Clint for help. As if getting such a wonderful car back wasn't enough, there's also $250,000 in counterfeit bills hidden in the car. It's all fairly predictable stuff and there isn't much of a spark between Eastwood and Peters. Occasional funny moments aren't enough to lift the film and the slow destruction of the car at Eastwood's hands will have Cadillac lovers weeping uncontrollably. There's a brief appearance by Jim Carrey (billed as James Carrey) as a 'lounge entertainer'.
