Viterelli's face is not so much lived in as camped on and has won him roles in many a gangster caper.
A veteran of more than 40 films, he's ridden shotgun for countless mobsters including appearances in Analyze This, Mickey Blue Eyes, The Firm and gangland spoof Mafia!
Starring roles have included Nick Valenti in Woody Allen's Bullets over Broadway and the Las Vegas-based drama The Strip for TV.
For more than 25 years he turned down numerous acting opportunities, including those from his long-time friend Leo Penn.
"I lived my whole life keeping a low profile and now you want to put this mug on a 40ft screen," he said.
However, in 1981 he succumbed and made his acting debut in Phil Joanou's State of Grace.
Other roles have included Face to Face, Shallow Hal, Serving Sara and the Analyze This sequel Analyze That.
