The cast give this amiable Western their best pistol shots, but it would have been a better bet if writer Jim Byrnes had penned it as an out-and-out spoof. Art Hindle and Tony Addabbo are brothers who join forces with their pacifist European cousin (Reiner Schoene) when their ranch comes under threat from mean land owner George Kennedy. Director Clay Borris invests the production with a series of elaborate train robberies, spectacular horseback riding, bristling shootouts - even a lone campside harmonica. But it all looks more than a bit jaded, a canter along familiar dust tracks.
