A broad but mostly delightful crime comedy about Edward G Robinson buying a shop next door to the bank he plans to rob, only to discover that he's making more of a profit from that than he ever did from crime. It's a pity that it's played as outright farce (Broderick Crawford's performance makes Jack Carson's look subtle), but watching Edward G wrap a suitcase in about 10 yards of brown paper for a customer is worth waiting for.
