Director Roger Corman's bizarre bargain-basement black comedy is a must-see. Nerdy florist Seymour (Jonathan Haze) wants to impress Audrey (Jackie Joseph), the girl he fancies. So he develops a special plant and names it after her. Unfortunately, the carnivorous potplant needs human blood as part of its diet and, as it can also talk, lets Seymour know with the constant cry 'feeeed me! '. The movie was made in two days, when Corman was challenged to come up with a script and then shoot the film in that time. Jack Nicholson appears in a very early cameo role as a masochistic dental patient. Daft? Oh yes, but great fun.
