Stephen Surjik

The director is best known for helming the successful sequel Wayne's World 2 starring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey.
Known mainly for his television work, Surjik's next big screen outing was the British comedy I Want Candy with Carmen Electra.
He studied at Montreal's Concordia University and received a Best Director award at the 13th Canadian Student Film & Video Festival in 1981 for Second Story Man.
After working as a production designer and art director in the mid-80s, he moved on, directing for the series Kids in the Hall.
In 1993, Surjik made his feature film debut with Wayne's World 2, starring fellow Canadian Myers.
For television, he has directed films such as the 1996 Grand Prix Cinéma Tout Ecran award-winning Little Criminals, the Emmy-nominated Weapons of Mass Distraction, starring Ben Kingsley and Gabriel Byrne, and the CBC movie Intelligence.
His series credits include Maniac Mansion, Da Vinci's Inquest, Legacy, The Handler, Due South, X-Files and pilots for Bull, Miss Miami and Wildcard.
In 2006, he directed the comedy I Want Candy starring Electra as a porn queen who winds up working for two British student filmakers.
