You'll be at least one step ahead of the hero all the way in this predictable formula romantic frolic about hot-blooded Andrew McCarthy trying to find the perfect mate. It's written to a well-tried Hollywood recipe: pretty airhead in tropical paradise setting is the object of the male's desire, while his true love - good hearted, plain Jane type - lurks unnoticed in the background. Please! Despite the stereotyping, McCarthy carries it all quite well, whether fighting with feisty Helen Hunt (who has personality to spare) or swooning over brainless blonde Kelly Preston. Undemanding enterainment, but nicely stitched together by Betty Thomas, once the formidable Sgt Bates in TV Hill Street Blues.
