Kevin Kline and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio are reunited from The January Man for this urban thriller about a wife-swapping weekend which ends in murder.

Unfortunately, director Alan J Pakula can't decide if he is shooting a straightforward drama or a thriller.

That, combined with cavernous leaps of logic and no sense of passage of time in the script, leaves the film sinking under the weight of its absurdities.

The cast are all pretty good with Kevin Spacey on top form as the new psychopath on the block.

It may not make much sense but at least Pakula keeps the gore to a low level.
