Routine B-movie matinee fare from Leo Gorcey and his Bowery gang of tykes. Wrongly accused of being jewel thieves, the boys are all gripped by private-eye fever. The directorial reins are in the capable hands of Wallace Fox, the former minstrel entertainer who turned out a slew of low-budget Westerns, action films and East Side Kids features for the Monogram Studio after becoming a director in 1927. He brought a few bright touches to this one, which is one of the more watchable East Side Kids capers.
