Hugh Grant stars in this classic comedy of embarrassments, as a sort of foul-mouthed Bertie Wooster always turning up late for friends' weddings while always avoiding his own. But then he meets Andie MacDowell and things change... The best of the dialogue here is often a seemingly sincere line twisted by an endpiece that makes it funny. The film also contains an amusing turn by Rowan Atkinson as an inexperienced priest. A box-office blast and triple BAFTA winner.
