Not quite such a late-comer to the disaster stakes as its initial 1983 US television broadcast would seem to indicate. This people-in-peril drama was actually made in 1979 and then consigned to the shelf. Some blame must be cast on a comically over-emphatic score by Richard La Salle which seems at odds with the suspense. The folk in danger here (in this instance from two separate cave-ins deep underground) are the usual mixture of unlikely characters: a park ranger, a disgraced policeman (and wife), an overbearing professor (and daughter) and a dangerous schizophrenic.
