A mammoth two-part drama with Bette Davis in domineering form as the formidable matriarch of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, centre of a famous child custody row in the 30s. The regal Miss Davis is almost matched in the acting stakes by Angela Lansbury (her TV movie debut) and Lucy Gutteridge as, respectively, one of the world's richest women and one of the world's great beauties. It is these two who are fighting over little Gloria Vanderbilt.
