Steve Zahn

Born: 13th November 1968
Where: Marshall, Minnesota

An actor seemingly destined for minor leads or support roles, Zahn nevertheless has an impressive range.

He got his professional start in a local production of Neil Simon's comedy Biloxi Blues, and went on to train for two years at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

After moving to New York in 1991, Steve toured in Bye Bye Birdie, which starred his future wife Robyn Peterman.

While featured in a number of TV roles, including a 1995 guest part on Friends, and a supporting role in the Tom Hanks produced miniseries From the Earth To the Moon, Steve is best known for his work on the big screen.

The actor's film career began with an appearance in the 1992 political drama Rain Without Thunder, playing the frightened boyfriend of a girl prosecuted for having an abortion in a future society where the procedure has been outlawed.

In 1994, Steve appeared in Ben Stiller's Reality Bites, a role the actor got after being noticed on stage with Ethan Hawke in Sophistry.

Steve received acclaim and a special award at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival for his comedic work as one of two escaped convicts posing as gay directors in a small town in Happy, Texas.

His latest role sees him in a more light-hearted role alongside Martin Lawrence in National Security and as a Trekkie in Daddy Day Care.
