The American comedy of manners finally went modern in this look at a sexual hotbed that passes for the preparations for a wedding. Quite funny at times, in its own saucy fashion, and very complete as well: while its relationships don't get any further, they are neatly rounded off at the end. Something for everyone, you might think. I had my reservations - though not about Gig Young's drily brilliant performance as the bride's nowhere-man father.
