Fans of David Hasselhoff from Baywatch will be quite shocked to find him playing a glaringly nasty villain in this Alaska-set thriller, which, although slightly too protracted, proves a real tension-builder for most of the way. Hasselhoff attacks his role rather too fiercely at times, but Michael Gross is appropriately resolute as the father fighting for the safety of his two teenage children and director Paul Shapiro keeps the suspense on course.
