Killer-thriller clichés abound in this gory telepic starring TV star Kelsey Grammer. He's a bullying detective whose lone witness to a murder is a nine-year-old autistic boy (Keegan Macintosh) who can only communicate through brilliantly executed drawings. So, with the defective out-scoring the detective, we're deeply into cutesville with young Macintosh outstanding. Grammer, on the other hand is out of his depth as a tough-talking LA cop. Promising idea, poor execution all round. Spot up-and-coming Jack Black as a character called Marty.
