The story is about four city lads who get lost in the inner city streets of Chicago, witness a murder and find themselves alone with no help.

Frank Wyatt (Estevez), his brother John (Dorff), and friends Mike (Gooding Jr), and Ray (Piven), drive into downtown Chicago to attend a major boxing match.

They take a wrong turn and end up travelling through one of Chicago's tough, depressed neighbourhoods, and wish they had never turned off the main road.

After they witness a drug lord, Fallon (Leary), perform a cold-blooded murder, he hunts them down through the streets to silence them.

They soon find themselves in a fight for survival.

Leary is cold, vicious and frightening, and extremely convincing as a psychotic killer.
