We're in Deliverance territory again with this story of an innocent family terrorised by maniacs. Christopher Lambert stars as businessman Jack, who goes on a cross-country drive in the Southern desert with his family and friends. What follows is 24 hours of hell, as the group are set upon by the completely amoral Cliff (Craig Sheffer) and his gang. Stomach-churning stuff, and no mistake, but it's effectively directed and the characters are carefully written, so that you care about the outcome of the mayhem that lurks beneath the veneer of civilisation.
