A fact-based TV movie based on the work of voracious Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal, played with great dignity by Martin Landau. The film focuses on just one of his cases, that of Max and Helen, young lovers who were separated during World War Two in a German labour camp and finally reunited decades later. The screenplay really gets under the skin of Wiesenthal, portraying him as a crusader who is more than willing to burn evidence against even the most vicious of Nazi officers to protect some of their victims from further trauma in having to give evidence in court. Treat Williams delivers a solid performance as Max but is not totally convincing as an older man.
