In this stylish and visually impressive thriller, George (Jim Metzler) has just embezzled a fortune and is off to start a new life. But driving through the desert, he picks up Chevy and Patti (scene-stealing Kyle Secor and Jennifer Rubin) whose car has overturned. They kidnap poor old George and he is forced to witness a contract killing before being left to die in the desert. But George is determined to get his money back. Given its low budget, this is a notable effort from director and co-writer Carl Colpaert, who gets good performances from his largely unknown cast. The script is a bit thin, though, and central character George doesn't fully engage our sympathies. But on the whole it's a worthy effort - and the spaghetti Western parody showdown at the film's climax is a lot of fun.
