The mythical 'great reporter' story gets another airing here, along with a grinning, intrepid hero (Bruce Greenwood), a bludgeoning script by the usually reliable Stephen J Cannell and an annoying voice-over commentary on events provided by Gregg Henry, who also plays a key role in the plot. Jessica Steen is better as a spiky heroine and Canadaian actor Donald Moffat does his usual steady job as (yet again) a man not to be trusted. Far-fetched is the phrase for this one, and the treatment does little to disguise it. Parents thinking of taping the film should be warned that the story has an unpleasant electrocution scene in its first few minutes.
