This made-for-TV wartime drama is an edited-down version of a four-hour mini-series. James Fox stars as a high-ranking intelligence officer whose task it is to cause confusion and doubt in the Nazi high command about the exact location of the D-Day landing. As if this wasn't enough of a story, there are also love tangles between Fox's neice (Patsy Kensit) and an American major (Gary Cole), who also had a fling with French resistance recruit Tara Fitzgerald. Such severe trimming hasn't done the story any favours, but the central plot has survived pretty much intact.
