This is the old 'cop chasing a killer but blocked by bureaucracy' chestnut that we've seen many times. But before you switch over, wait. This one is lifted from the norm by Brian Dennehy, who plays the cop, Jack Reed. Dennehy gives his character depth and realism which makes you want to stick with him. He's admirably supported by Susan (L. A. Law) Ruttan as his wife and Bill Sadler as the killer he's chasing. Good, solid crime thriller entertainment.
