A teen movie unlike many of the campus capers that have since appeared in the Nineties, since this one deals with the serious issue of racism - the title referring to blacks and whites mixing together in a Detroit college. Lead player Michael Rapaport is a Jewish guy, thoroughly into black culture - his new girlfriend is his black friend's cousin (N'Bushe Wright). Unfortunately for the young couple, there are some in the school who don't like to see quite so much racial harmony and want to put paid to the romance. Directed and written by Anthony Drazan, it's hard-hitting and sensitively acted, if a little too straightforward and predictable in the plot department.
