A pre-James Bond Pierce Brosnan seems to be doing a superspy try-out in this lively and explosive action picture made for cable TV. He's a special agent in pursuit of a renegade Russian general (Christopher Lee), who's got an A-bomb and wants to sell it to the Iraqis. OK, it looks a bit cheap and cheerful compared to GoldenEye, but that doesn't stop it being a ripping yarn. Brosnan is a firm-jawed hero and Lee obviously enjoys himself as the villain. Star Trek's Patrick Stewart also shines as Brosnan's boss. Utter tosh, but filled with action and exciting.
