They're bad, all right, in every sense of the word. When Cody (Madeleine Stowe), a honky tonk harlot (the film's description) shoots a customer to protect one of the girls, in this sometimes rousing Western, her three hookers save her from the hangman's noose - and all four go on the run together. Cody's idea is to reclaim the $12000 she has saved in the bank. At the bank, though, the girls are tracked down by lawmen at the same time that Kid Jarrett (James Russo), an old adversary of Cody's, robs the bank - and Cody. The rest of the action more or less concerns the girls' efforts to get back the cash, leading to too many slow scenes. But there's a terrific gunfight at the end, as the girls finally take on the outlaws. Dialogue's mostly ludicrous, but any script that comes up with the line 'Pick it up, put it in, die like a man' can't be all bad. Drew Barrymore puts in some terrific riding and steals the film. Stowe is also fine.
