This gruelling romantic drama about an alcoholic wife (another switch of image for Meg Ryan) certainly does go on a bit - with the aid of far too many pop songs on the soundtrack.
Even so, it barely manages to scratch the surface of its subject.
Ryan does quite well with her big speeches, but Andy Garcia struggles as much with his role as his character does to come to terms with his wife's problem.
They both annoy you that they're making their own paths so difficult, but then, if they didn't, we certainly would have a two-hours-plus movie here. Disappointing.
