This amusing and slightly unusual drama is rather enjoyable, even if it isn't quite as clever as it thinks it is. James Caan and Katharine Ross play a bored but wealthy couple who get drawn into a series of ever-more curious and dangerous games by mystrious saleswoman Simone Signoret. The twists and turns will keep you interested and the film looks rather stylish, albeit in a very Sixties way. Director Curtis Harrington gives the film some flair although that isn't enough to paper over some of the cracks. One of the major cracks is Caan, who obviously hadn't quite mastered this acting lark when this was made. The only way for him to go from here was up.
