'You know the name, you know the number,' boomed the publicity for the 1995 return for James Bond after a six-year gap. But disappointingly, this 007 adventure is merely a cross between a hi-tech Cold War thriller and Dr No, as Bond must track a deadly satellite weapon that has gone missing. Pierce Brosnan makes a welcome change from dull Timothy Dalton as James Bond and Famke Janssen, as Xenia Onatopp, is a terrific villainess. Sean Bean is a great villain who has dozens of easy chances to shoot Bond dead and, of course, ignores them all and Judi Dench steps into the shoes of M and is perfect.
