A late, late spin-off idea from the hit series about the high-tech talking car that ran from 1982 to 1986 and made a star of David Hasselhoff. He and a former policewoman join forces with KITT 4000 - the car with a personality of its own - to do battle with a deadly ring of gun runners and cops gone bad. Set in the then-futuristic year 2000, as you might guess from the title, this is rather more serious than the original series, and the plot includes the death of one of its characters.
