The tale of Madonna Ciccone's move from obscurity to sex symbol and hot pop and movie property, this biopic is played well by Terumi Matthews, but the script lets the project down. It's based on an unauthorised biography of the star, starting with Madonna's job as a maid on arrival in New York and going on to her singing auditions as she hopes to attain a recording contract. Dean Stockwell plays her father. Probably for fans only.
