Madcap Christmas comedy with a first-class pedigree: co-writer and director is Nora Ephron, who directed Sleepless in Seattle and wrote When Harry Met Sally... and the star is the wacky comedian Steve Martin. But the comedy is strained and very black - Martin plays the head of a suicide helpline who faces not only personal failure and financial ruin but every stereotypical misfit you can imagine.
