Before you spot the name Tennessee Williams and reaching for the channel switch, you should know that this is actually a light and quite enjoyable comedy. It's so unlike the playwright's other work that it wrong-footed critics and audiences at its original opening. Jane Fonda and Jim Hutton play newlyweds who can't quite get used to being married. But there's always someone worse off, as they discover when they visit friends Tony Franciosa and Lois Nettleton. Good fun with a happy ending, this was pretty lightweight stuff for Williams, although a fairly typical comedy of manners for the early Sixties. Acting kudos goes to Franciosa, while Fonda's performance is rather disappointing.
