Rade is one of the former Yugoslavia's most popular and prolific actors.
He has appeared in over 40 native films but gained international recognition with his performance in the Oscar nominated Before The Rain (1994).
The film also saw Rade being honoured with the best actor award at The Venice Film Festival the same year.
Not just a giant of the screen, Rade was also known in the former Yugoslavia as the definitive Hamlet, having become a most distinguished stage actor.
In Hollywood, Rade has shone in many notable supporting roles such as Stigmata, Mighty Joe Black, Eyes Wide Shut and also as Boris 'The Blade' Yurinov in Guy Ritchie's Snatch.
His biggest role in Hollywood to date is as Inspector Vigot in The Quiet American, in which he starred alongside Michael Caine and Brendan Fraser.
