This short documentary film is a fascinating look at cult director Samuel Fuller, one of Hollywood's most enduring and endearing characters, who died in 1997. Tim Robbins takes very much a back seat as Fuller's interviewer and lets the maker of such cult classics as The Steel Helmet, Fixed Bayonets! and Merrill's Marauders do most of the talking. Martin Scorsese, Jim Jarmusch and Quentin Tarantino all pay tribute to Fuller who is a major influence in their work. Enjoyable and well-made, the only thing wrong with this is that it leaves you wanting to know more about its subject.
