Kung fu superhero Jackie Chan's exciting stunt-filled, all-action sequel to his 1985 hit Police Story. He again plays maverick Hong Hong cop Kevin Chan and is reunited with the equally athletic superheroine Maggie Cheung investigating a bombing extortion case. The brilliant, truly dangerous-looking fight sequences are thrillingly choreographed, and the simple, rather silly sense of humour is engaging. This time round, though, the story isn't so well organised - and nor, it seems, were the fights, since Cheung was badly hurt in one of the stunts, causing her to be replaced by a body double. The clever Chan is his own director and co-scriptwriter and keeps it all moving along at the speed of light.
