The actress landed her breakthrough role as a young woman falling into the clutches of Bob Hoskins' serial killer in Felicia's Journey in 1999.
Her first starring role was as Pinocchio in a school play when she was five and regular teenage work included The Stranger Within Me and The Sun The Moon and the Stars.
Her big break came at 18 in Felicia's Journey, based on the novel by William Trevor.
Subsequent outings included the role of Runt in Disco Pigs opposite Cillian Murphy, which netted her the award of Ireland's Best Actress in 2003.
She played a mute servant in The Others with Nicole Kidman and reteamed with Hoskins for The Lost World.
In 2005, she played Hitler's young niece and lover Geli in Uncle Adolf and is known to British TV audiences as Detective Amy Harris in Ghost Squad.
Recent big screen work includes the British black comedy The Truth alongside Elizabeth McGovern.
