Scandal wrecks a man's political career even before it has started in this tense drama. Senatorial candidate John Waylan (Peter Strauss) looks certain of a place in the Senate until press disclosures about his involvement in a massacre while serving in Vietnam do his image irreparable damage. After losing the campaign, he and his wife (Kathleen Quinlan) flee to a remote cottage. But she disappears and suddenly Waylan is the police's prime suspect. Although not startlingly original, this dark and complex drama has enough plot to keep you guessing and the performances of Strauss, Quinlan and Peter Boyle convince. Solid entertainment.
