The Cannes Film Festival has been home to David Cattaneo's films on several occasions.
His first film, a 20-minute short called Spotters, was shown in France, as was his most recent project, Lucky Break, starring Timothy Spall and Olivia Williams.
Peter first captured critical attention for his whimsical short, Dear Rosie. The film was nominated for an Oscar in the short subject category.
He has also worked for British TV series and his feature, Loved Up, was shown at the Sundance film festival.
The storm generated by the film enabled Peter to produce his masterpiece - The Full Monty, which turned out to become one of the most successful British comedies in the history of film.
The film earned Peter a best director academy award nomination.
