The Oxford-educated actress is probably best known for the role of Mandy in the international box office hit The Full Monty.
Other notable big screen appearances have included Thomas Hardy's The Woodlanders, Photographing Fairies and Wondrous Oblivion.
After graduating from Oxford she worked on the stage before landing a small role in the TV version of Middlemarch.
Next up was The Full Monty and The Woodlanders before a role in the disposable Velvet Goldmine with Ewan McGregor.
She played a sex line operator in Fast Food and starred in Passion, the story of Percy Grainger, before landing a regular role in Daylight Robber with Michelle Collins.
In 2000, she played Dorothy Wordsworth in Pandaemonium and wrote and starred in the short Going Going.
Subsequent roles included Silent Cry with Douglas Henshall and Kevin Whateley and a Jewish mother in Wondrous Oblivion.
Recent work includes the Newcastle-set romantic comedy School for Seduction with Kelly Brook.
